KINGS LYNN SOUTH BRANCH LINES AND DOCKS LINE
Welcome to Norfolks disused railways.com.South Lynn bridges and the signal on the Nar Valley walk Kings Lynn. The first picture of the signal is seen from the A148 Nar Valley way in King's Lynn just off the South gates round about and easy accessible by foot for photos and a closer look. The other bridge remains are the other side of the A47 and easy accessible by foot. For more information on these bridges I highly recommend a look at this page by Lewis Collard who's page more than helped me find these railway remains
Here we see a old signal remain just off the A148 bypass at South Lynn.Looking at www.Railmaponline.com This looks like its a signal remain left behind from the old harbour branch line that spurred off the main line(fen Line) at King's Lynns Harbour junction.
Next we see these old bridge remains on the Nar valley walk just over the A47 by the Saddlebow estate.
Again with the help from Railmaponline.com
These bridges as I can gather were part of the beet factory line now closed and the factory demolished. The beet factory stood roughly where Palm Paper now stands.
Please if anyone knows any different please feel free to put me right or wrong
These two pictures of old railway track left behind was found in the now grain silo at saddlebow industrial estate and was most likely left behind remains from the old sugar beet factory sidings please feel free to mail me with any ideas
Kings Lynn docks branch
Kings Lynn docks branch going from just past Kings Lynn station near Tennyson avenue coming away from the level crossing. The last train on the line from what I can see was may 1993 and a few empty stock moves after that.Part of the line now from Kings Lynn station-tennyson avenue level crossing to just past the collage of west anglia-dodmans bridge is still in use as a turn around point for the Middleton Towers sand train
Kings Lynn docks branch line to the right now used as a turn around line section for Middleton Towers/sibelco sand trains to goole and various other places for glass making
